There are some social niceties that are almost universally observed: for example, it’s pretty much unacceptable for a man to hit a woman. Or for anyone to hit a man in his man-parts. You don’t knock children off the equipment at a playground. Etc, etc.
I believe just as firmly that a man living with a woman should never have to empty the bathroom trash can unless the woman is absolutely physically incapable of doing so. It’s just not civilized to do otherwise.
There’s my thought for the day.
But I’ll add for those of you who watch or have watched Bones, the whole time I’m typing this post I hear Hodgins complaining from the back seat of Booth’s car even after he’d called “shotgun,” “What’s happening to our society when the niceties are no longer observed?”
